Basic Electricity

Things You'll Need:

`Electrician's screwdrivers
`Diagonal pliers/wire cutters
`Wire strippers
`Lineman's pliers/electrician's pliers
`Needle nose pliers
`AWG#14 solid, bare copper wire
`SPST (Single-Pole Single Throw) toggle switch
`Yellow wire nuts
`Black plastic electrical tape
`Switch cover plate
`Ceiling light fixture

Step 1
Turn the circuit breaker off and, if possible, lock the service panel close so no one can accidentally turn the breaker on while you are working on the circuit.

Step 2
Splice the two neutral conductors (white wires) together in the device box/switch box. Making a solid electrical splice takes practice. Begin by stripping ¾ inches of insulation from each conductor. Hold the stripped ends side-by-side and twist them tightly together in a clockwise direction using lineman's pliers/electrician's pliers. Then screw a wire nut over the splice. Inspect the splice to make sure that no bare copper shows outside of the wire nut. Remove the wire nut and trim the splice back if there's any bare copper showing. Once you are satisfied with the splice, secure the wire nut to the wire by wrapping a couple of turns of electrical tape around them.

Step 3
Make a three-way pigtail splice with the other two bare grounding conductors in the box using a 6-inch length of bare copper conductor. Make this splice just as you did the neutral conductor splice, except in this case you aren't concerned about bare wire showing and you don't need to tape the finished splice.

Step 4
Strip ¾ inches of insulation from the end of the two black wires in the device box and form a loop in the ends of the stripped conductors using needle nose pliers. Form a loop in the end of the bare pigtail.

Step 5
Connect the black wire from the service panel to the bottom brass-colored screw on the switch. Place the loop around the screw in a clockwise direction and tighten the screw securely without over-tightening. Connect the black wire carrying the power to the light fixture to the top brass screw in a like manner.

Step 6
Connect the bare grounding conductor to the green octagon-shaped screw on the switch. Once all the wires are attached to the switch terminals, wrap a couple of layers of electrical tape over them for an added degree of protection. Secure the switch in the box.

Step 7
Splice the white and black conductors to the white and black fixture wires at the lighting outlet box.

Step 8
Splice the fixture-grounding conductor to the system-grounding conductor and secure the fixture to the outlet box.

Step 9
Turn the circuit breaker on and switch on your new light.

“ I chose this project as it requires mentality work and before you connect the circuit, you should know first how to solve the series connection. While performing the task, accidentally, one of our classmates broke the lamp that causes him to buy another lamp. The project was quiet hard as it needs full concentration and determination. Through this, I could present it in my field someday.”

Note:

1.FRW could also be use in your garden in watering your plants by rising it with water 100ml FRW with 1 liter water.

2.To prevent odor in pig manure: (1liter water) as it hasten its decomposition to turn it to organic fertilizer for your garden plants.

“ I chose this project in agricultural arts for the reason that I was able to produce a good product and was able to perform the activity according to what our instructor had expected. We use this product to prevent the odor of animal manure and turn it into organic fertilizer.”

Architechtural Drafting

Construction of Letters and Lines

Things You'll Need:

Paper
Sharpie
Glass
Safety glasses
Running pliers
Combination pliers
Glass grinder

Procedures:

Step 1
Make a pattern of the design you want by sketching it on paper with a black marker. Use carbon paper so that you have two additional copies; the pattern is your master copy. If you've never worked on stained glass before, start with a straight-line pattern such as squares, diamonds or rectangles.

Step 2
Take one copy and cut along the lines you've sketched. Arrange the cut pieces of paper on the glass. Use a marker to outline each piece on the glass.

Step 3
Place the glass on a flat surface and put on a pair of safety glasses to protect yourself from glass slivers. Holding the glass cutter the same way you would hold a pencil, lightly score the glass along the lines you drew.

Step 4
Break the glass in a straight line by placing it on a table. Align the score line flush with the edge of the table and lightly push with a downward motion.

Step 5
Score curves on stained glass by following steps 1 through 3, drawing curves instead of straight lines.

Step 6
Use a pair of combination pliers to break a curve. Place the pliers right at the score line (curve) and lightly pull downward.

Step 7
Arrange all the pieces over the master copy. Make sure they look and fit the way you want. Next, put on your safety glasses and sand all the pieces with a glass grinder.

“ I chose this project the lettering of letters and drawing of lines for the reason that when we were doing this, we enjoyed performing it as well as making different lines in free hand and all of us were laughing because the lines we made were not presentable. Our instructor also smiled on us then she continued, “ soon you can get it”. It was a great experience for us because we were able to adopt the attitude of being patient and responsible”

FRONT INNER BACK

“ I chose this project on clothing and grooming because we were almost to surrender upon sewing this on our own. Our instructor was so strict that you cannot say I can't but to continue your work or else you have no grade. Though it was difficult to make, but we enhance our attitude to adjust, to be more patient and to know our limitation as student that we could use in our field in teaching.”

Memorable Scrapbook

Picking Your Project

1.Step 1
Find pictures--developed or undeveloped, digital or film. Grab a box lying around the house that you've haven't put in albums yet, or develop photos from your memory card that you've filled up.

2.Step 2
Think about your photos. Each page of your scrapbook will have around one to five photos, so out of your pictures choose the ones that mean the most to you and discard the rest.

3.Step 3
Decide if your scrapbook will have a theme or focus on one event, or if it will focus on a specific time frame. Choosing one event or person will give direction to the project.
Getting Supplies

4.Step 1
Figure out how much money you are willing to invest in this project, and set yourself a budget. You might need to purchase an album, paper, pinking shears or paper cutters, glues and other adhesives and embellishments. Lots of small items can add up quickly.

5.Step 2
Venture into the scrapbook aisle of your local craft store or major retailer, and look for an album. An 8x8 album might be a good place to start, or you could try the standard 12x12 album.

6.Step 3
Find paper of the correct size (usually 8x8 or 12x12). Most places allow you to buy individual sheets, but it's usually best to buy a pack of paper that coordinates with your project. If you buy more paper than you need, you can use the extra to make frames, borders, and paper designs to enhance your scrapbook.

7.Step 4
Select embellishments. The selection is huge, so start in the sale or clearance section. Look for only those items that match your theme. Keep your pictures in mind as you peruse the aisle.
Putting it Together

8.Step 1
Place your photos where you want them. Glue a photo on some extra paper and cut out a border freehand or with a ruler and pencil. Place on your background paper and figure out where you'd like it to go. Set aside and work on the other photos for the page.

9.Step 2
Consider cropping photos--cutting them into interesting shapes. Create a cardboard template of the shape (like a star or circle) and use as a guide.

10.Step 3
Glue your photos to the background when you're satisfied with their placement. Next, add your words, stickers, and embellishments. Soon you'll have a beautiful work of art full of your best memories.

“ They say that one way to keep memories alive is to keep it in our hearts, yes it's true but for me to preserve the beautiful memories, we should keep the pictures to remember the sweet moments. I chose this project for the reason that I had already pictures when I was a little baby before and also I have gathered more pictures since when I was in grade school and high school. I could use it when I am already in my filed by presenting it to my students my achievements and to my own family.”

Basic Carpentry and Plumbing

Hollow Block Making

Step 1
Inflate a beach ball and use a felt pen to draw a circle around the top, with the air valve in the center. This will be the opening of your concrete block.

Step 2
Apply water-based concrete-releasing agents to the entire surface of the ball.

Step 3
Wrap strips of hardware cloth around the surface of the ball, leaving the area inside the drawn circle clear. Be sure the strips remain as evenly spaced as possible: Multiple layers on top of one another will create an uneven surface, which makes it trickier to get the concrete sphere right.

Step 4
Place a layer of wet concrete around the surface of the ball. The layer should be a uniform 1/2 inch thick around the entire surface. The area inside the drawn circle should be kept completely free of concrete mix.

Step 5
Allow the concrete to harden for at least 24 hours.

Step 6
Deflate the ball and carefully remove it from the concrete.

Step 7
Add additional layers of concrete over the first until the block is of the desired thickness. You may wish to do this in stages, adding a little concrete at a time instead of placing it all on at once.

“ I chose this project because we worked on it under the heat of the sun and for the reason that I have already experienced on how to make hollow blocks. I know also that I can use it in the near future”
